Is the live product I'm paying for in good shape?

Got a quote you can't judge? Get an independent read before you sign. Good shape means the live product can keep serving customers, the risks fit this stage, and a quote in front of you is reasonable. A Technical Review from Gotologic is an independent look at a product you are already paying for. You keep a written report.
What this is for
You are paying someone else for a product that people already use. From the outside it is hard to tell whether it is in good shape, whether a risk is serious, or whether a new quote is reasonable.
What we look at
- Whether the live product is in good shape for how you use it now.
- We read the code if you can share it.
- Risks that should change what you do next, including who can reach customer data.
- Whether a quote or plan matches the product you already have.
- What needs attention now, and what can wait.
What you get
You get a written report in plain language, and the report is yours to keep. It says whether the live product is in good shape, what to handle first, and what can wait. Written report within 5 business days, plus a 60-minute session to go through it. Sign a sprint, an Automation Spike or a first Fractional CTO month within 30 days of your report and the full US$399 Review fee comes off its first invoice. If the report doesn't give you at least 3 prioritised actions you didn't already have, tell me within 7 days and I'll refund the full fee. You keep the report.
What I need from you
A link to the product and, if you have it, read-only access to the code. No access? We start from what's visible and your supplier's answers.
What this is not
Not included: rebuilding the product, a full security audit (penetration test), or reviewing an idea that isn't built yet.
I have relied many times on the services of the team at Gotologic. They approach software development in a pragmatic way. Communications and management of the projects were always on-point and very clear.
Technical Review is US$399, one-time, with the report included.
Questions
I am paying someone else for a live product. Is that in scope?
Yes. This is an independent look when you cannot judge the quality, the risk, or a quote yourself.
Can you look at a quote before I accept it?
Yes. We compare the quote or plan with the product you have. The report says whether it is reasonable.
Is this a penetration test?
We look at risks that matter for a live product at this stage, including who can reach customer data. A full security audit (penetration test) is not included.
What if I am still figuring out what to build?
This review is for a product that already exists and is in use. An idea that isn't built yet is not included.
Do I have to tell my supplier?
Up to you. You can share the report with them if you like. It's written to be fair and practical, not a blame list.
What is the next step after the review?
If there's work to do, I'll quote the first step as a fixed-price 30-day sprint. Or take the report to anyone. It's yours.
