Technical Review

What should I know before I buy or take over this SaaS?

Before you buy or take over a small SaaS, know whether anyone besides the current operator can run it, and whether weak spots should change the purchase price. A Technical Review from Gotologic is a focused technical check, not a full legal or financial due diligence. You keep a written report for that decision.

What this is for

You are buying, investing in, or taking over a small SaaS or app. The demo works. The current operator can explain it. You still cannot tell whether the business can keep running without that person, or whether the asking price matches the software.

What we look at

  • Whether anyone besides the current operator can keep the product running.
  • Which accounts and services the business depends on.
  • Who can reach customer data, and how admin access works.
  • How payments and customer data move through the product.
  • Weak spots that should change the purchase price.

What you get

You get a written report in plain language, and the report is yours to keep. It names the risks that should change the purchase price or the plan. Written report within 5 business days, plus a 60-minute session to go through it. I'll send you a short list of what to ask the seller for. Confidential: the report is yours, and we don't contact the seller unless you ask. Sign a sprint, an Automation Spike or a first Fractional CTO month within 30 days of your report and the full US$399 Review fee comes off its first invoice. If the report doesn't give you at least 3 prioritised actions you didn't already have, tell me within 7 days and I'll refund the full fee. You keep the report.

What I need from you

A link to the product and, if you have it, read-only access to the code. No access? We start from what's visible and the seller's answers.

What this is not

Not included: rebuilding the product, a full security audit (penetration test), or reviewing an idea that isn't built yet.

It's a 'sleep better at night' and 'get more stuff done' kind of thing

Technical Review is US$399, one-time, with the report included.

Questions

Is this for buying or taking over a small SaaS?

Yes. It covers a small SaaS or app you might buy, invest in, or take over.

Will this stand in for my lawyer or accountant?

Legal, financial, and intellectual-property diligence stays with your lawyer and accountant.

What if only one person can run it or open the accounts?

We look at that. The report says whether someone besides the current operator can keep the product running, and which accounts the business depends on.

I already use the product and may take it over. Does that fit?

Yes, when the software already exists and you cannot judge it yourself. If nothing has been built, this review does not apply.

What is the next step after the review?

If you go ahead with the purchase, I can quote a fixed-price takeover sprint (accounts transferred, a second person able to run it). If you walk away, the report did its job.
