How it works

Gotologic gives businesses that build or run software a senior technical person on their side, without hiring one full-time. This page shows four ways to work with us: a free check, a Technical Review, a 30-day sprint, and Fractional CTO. Each one says what you get, how long it takes, and how you start. After a Technical Review, your report proposes the next step in writing and you decide. Anything we make for you is yours once it's paid.

For businesses and self-employed professionals.

Free check

A free first look at your situation. It isn't bookable yet. To start today, the Technical Review gives you a written report you keep.

Free. No start date yet.

Technical Review

Samuel Demers

Samuel Demers Software engineer and CTO with about 15 years of experience across software development, architecture, infrastructure, hiring, and technical leadership.

You find out what matters in your software now and what can wait, explained in plain words, with a written report you keep. It's for software that's already in use, with a developer or supplier writing the code. Your report proposes the next step and you decide, or you take the report to anyone. It's yours.

The 60-minute session comes first. The written report follows within 5 business days.

US$399 excl. VAT

Included

  • One product: one app or one site, and its main code.
  • Send us a link to the product, and code access if you have it, at least 24 hours before the session, so the hour goes to your questions. If it comes later, we move the session.
  • One 60-minute session.
  • A written report within 5 business days.
  • One written reply to a follow-up question about the report.

If the report doesn't give you at least 3 prioritised actions you didn't already have, tell us within 7 days and we'll refund the full fee. You keep the report.

If you go ahead within 30 days of your report, with a 30-day sprint, an automation test or a first month of Fractional CTO, the full Review fee comes off that first invoice.

30-day sprint

A sprint is one written result and a date. We agree the price before we start. Anything after that result is a separate step. If you still need a yes or no on an automation, the automation test is the shorter test, paid up front.

30 days for a sprint. The automation test is shorter.

Fix or finish one stuck thing

A feature that will not finish, a problem that keeps coming back, or a decision you cannot make. We carry that one thing through to a written result on the date we agreed.

30 days. The result and the date are agreed before we start.

from US$3,900 excl. VAT

The figure shown is a starting point. We confirm the price after we read your request.

The work after the written result. That later step has its own price and its own date.

A fixed price for a written deliverable and a date. If we're late for reasons on our side, we keep going at no extra charge for up to 10 business days. If we still can't deliver, you get back what you paid for the sprint.

Make releases safe

Changes reach your customers before anyone has tried them safely, or each release is stressful. For one product, we put a safer release in place: a clear way of working, a place to try changes before customers see them, and a release you can repeat. The starting price is the same as Fix or finish one stuck thing.

30 days. The result and the date are agreed before we start.

One product only. The work after this safer release is in place has its own price and its own date.

One AI automation

One repeated task, done with your data and your tools, finished as a working result on an agreed date. We take this on when the data and the tool access are already known. If they are not, start with an automation test.

Automation test

Fractional CTO

You keep your developer or supplier. You get a senior person on your side on a regular rhythm, or one who takes charge of an agreed part of the technical side. Choose a level. Your developer or supplier keeps invoicing you directly.

Per month. You pay month to month. Three months in advance is one invoice, on request.

Weekly coordination

One working session each week. We turn what the business needs into clear work, look at what happened, and agree what happens next. Your developer keeps building the product and invoices you directly.

Questions

Who is this for?

What does a 30-day sprint leave out?

The work after the written result. That later step has its own price and its own date.

Who pays our developer?

Your developer invoices you directly. Gotologic is not added to that invoice.

Can you help us choose a developer?

Yes. You bring the candidates. We help you decide whom to hire. There is no separate public price.

Terms in plain words

Who these terms are for

Gotologic AB (Sweden) sells to businesses. By ordering, you confirm that you're buying for a company or as a self-employed professional, not as a private consumer. The quote or order confirmation you accept is the agreement. If it says something different from this page, the quote or order confirmation wins.

Technical Review: refund guarantee

  • You pay US$399 excl. VAT by card when you order.
  • Before your session: if you haven't had your session yet, you can cancel and get a full refund from My orders.
  • After the report: if the report doesn't give you at least 3 prioritised actions you didn't already have, email us within 7 days of receiving it and we'll refund the full fee to your original payment method. You don't need to argue your case; telling us which actions weren't new is enough. You keep the report.
  • One guarantee refund per company. A refunded Review can't also be used as a credit.
  • The refund is the full extent of the guarantee. We don't guarantee any business, technical or financial result from following the report.

Review credit

If you sign a 30-day sprint, an automation test or a first Fractional CTO month within 30 days of receiving your report, the full Review fee you paid is deducted from its first invoice. One credit per Review. It has no cash value, can't be transferred, can't be combined with another credit and doesn't apply to work under an existing agreement.

30-day sprint: delivery guarantee

  • Each sprint has a fixed price, a written deliverable and an agreed delivery date, all in your quote.
  • If we're late for reasons on our side, we keep working on the agreed deliverable at no extra charge for up to 10 business days after the agreed date.
  • If we still can't deliver it after that, or if we decide we can't deliver it at all, we stop, don't invoice anything still unpaid for the sprint, and refund what you've paid for the sprint. That refund is the most we owe under this guarantee.
  • The clock pauses while we're waiting on you: access, content, decisions or feedback that take more than 5 business days.
  • Changes or additions outside the written deliverable are quoted separately before any work on them starts. They don't count towards delivery.
  • We guarantee the agreed deliverable, not business results such as revenue, funding, adoption or a third party's performance.
  • The deliverable counts as delivered when you accept it, or 5 business days after hand-over if you haven't raised a written objection.
  • Payment: 50% before work starts, 50% on delivery, payable within 20 days. A split payment of the same total is available on request.
  • AI automation: when data quality or tool access isn't known yet, we start with an automation test (paid upfront). The sprint's fixed price and guarantee start once the automation test says go.

Fractional CTO (monthly)

Month-to-month: billed monthly in advance, due before the month starts; cancel with one month's notice. 3 months prepaid: one invoice in advance for the whole period, at the lower monthly price. Elapsed time isn't refunded. If we miss an agreed session, we make it up or credit it on the next invoice.

Who owns the work

  • Your existing material stays yours: code, data, designs, documents and accounts.
  • Work made for you becomes yours once it's paid. When the invoice for an item is paid, Gotologic transfers to you the rights it holds in the source code, designs, documentation and other deliverables made specifically for you, and you get a copy of the source files. We get the same rights from anyone we bring in to help.
  • Our own tools stay ours. Pre-existing tools, reusable components, templates and general know-how remain with Gotologic (or their owners). Where any of them end up inside something you've paid for, you get a permanent, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, change and distribute them as part of that work.
  • Third-party and open-source components stay under their own licences. We'll point out any licence restriction that matters for your use.
  • AI-assisted work: we transfer whatever rights exist and are held by us. We can't promise exclusive rights in material that the law doesn't protect or that belongs to third parties.
  • Reports and recommendations (for example the Review report) are yours to use inside your company and with your advisers, developers and investors.
  • We don't name you or show your work publicly without your written permission.

Hosting and accounts

  • Your company's name, your bill. Code repositories, cloud hosting, domains, app-store accounts, AI/LLM API keys and paid tools are set up in accounts owned by your company, and you pay those providers directly. We work in them with access you grant and can remove at any time.
  • Not included in our prices: hosting, third-party software, licences, API or model usage that keeps running after delivery, and other external costs, unless your quote says otherwise in writing. The AI tools we use to build your work are included. We won't take on an external cost for you without your prior written approval.
  • If you'd rather we hold an account for you for a while, we only do it when it's agreed in writing. We bill the provider's cost with no markup and transfer the account to you on request.
  • When we stop working together, we hand over the work done, its documentation and any access we hold for you, and remove our own access. Help beyond that hand-over (migration, training) is quoted separately.

General

  • We do the work with reasonable professional care and skill.
  • To the extent the law allows, our total liability for an order is limited to the fee you paid for that order, and neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss. This doesn't apply to fraud, wilful misconduct or anything the law doesn't allow us to limit.
  • Each side keeps the other's confidential information confidential and uses it only for the work. We can sign a mutual NDA before you share access.
  • Swedish law applies. Disputes go to the courts of Stockholm, Sweden.
